Mother's Day 2004
God Saw You
God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be
So He put His arms around you
And whispered "Come to me"
With tearful eyes we watched you
and saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly
We could not make you stay
A golden heart stopped beating
Hard working hands at rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best
I love you Mom
The day after my Mom's
funeral, Ann and I went to Kroger's to get food for everybody that was at my
Dad's house. We ran into my friend Wanda Barrett and we talked for a while. We told
her we were getting ready to take Mom's clothes out of her closet because Daddy
was ready for them to go. Only because he knew he couldn't do it. She said "I know it is none of my business, but don't
throw anything away yet. Just keep it for a while then do it. She said, if I know
you Margie, you will want to make a quilt out of her clothes". Well that was like
a light bulb going off in my head. So when we were cleaning out her closet it
made the job more bearable because we had a purpose. Everything we picked up we
wondered if it would go in the quilt. We used the gowns she wore in the hospital
and of course the shirt she wore on Mother's Day. Shorts, pants, tops and
whatever we thought would look good.
Here is what we came up with. They are all different and all beautiful. It was
sad for me to finish the last one but it was also a job complete. I love
everyone of them. I know everybody will cherish theirs as I do mine.
Thank you Wanda,
if it was not for you we would not have these.
These I have
put together. Bill's, Mine, Marty's, Ann's & Andy's

This is the label I put on the back.
Mary made her quilt, Valerie is working on hers (The wedding
comes first) and Kakie made hers with kitty looking on.
